ICEMARK AFRICA

Icemark Africa is the leading company that exports fruits and vegetables from Uganda to Europe, and currently detains 50% of the European market for Ugandan produce.

Mashamba’s produce is currently obtained from two farms with a cultivation area of 180 hectares. The acquisition of a third farm will allow Mashamba to expand its cultivation next year. Farm Fresh Foods and Icemark Africa have 48 employees in Uganda and buy products daily from 100 local farmers.

ICEMARK ACTIVITIES

Icemark Africa is the leading company that exports fruits and vegetables from Uganda to Europe, and currently detains 50% of the European market for Ugandan produce. Every week, Icemark exports approximately 400 tons of products, of which 60 are fruits and vegetables, and the rest is flowers and fish.

In 2006, Icemark exported 15,292 tons of products to Europe, principally to the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Icemark logistical network is comprised of refrigerated Boeing 747 airplanes from KM, the world’s largest privately owned cargo airline. Three weekly flights deliver Icemark’s products to Europe.
