Okra with Beef
A suggestion for cooking this healthy vegetable.
Ingredients
-1 kg of small okra
-2 tbsps of olive oil
- 2 small tomatoes, chopped
-1/2 clove of garlic, chopped
-1/2 kilogram of beef
-1 finely chopped onion
-1 lemon
-Salt
-Pepper
Preparation:
Wash and allow the okra to dry. Peel the top part of the okra, and cut off its small bottom part. Fry the chopped onion in the olive oil until golden, and add the meat. Add the tomatoes and allow to cook for 10 minutes. Add the okra, and add water as necessary. Add a pinch of salt and pepper, as well as juice from the squeezed lemon. Add the chopped garlic and mix with the okra. Allow to cook for an additional 5 minutes and remove from the fire. Serve hot with a plate of white rice.
