Latin Name: Passiflora edulis
Other Comercial Names: Passion Fruit, Granadilla, Purple Granadilla, Yellow Passion Fruit

Passion fruit is cultivated commercially for its fruit in East Africa, Northwestern South America, India, the Caribbean, Brazil, South Florida and South Africa, where it is known as a granadilla.

The passion fruit is round to oval, yellow or dark purple at maturity, with a soft to firm, juicy interior filled with numerous seeds. It can be taken as a fresh juice, fruit salad or a decoration for important home parties.

Did You Know... It is said in some cultures, after eating a Passion Fruit, you fall in love with the next person you make eye contact with.
Selection criteria: Choose fruit that feel heavy for their size. The shell should be a deep purple colour and unblemished.
Periods when cultivated: Year-round
Transport: By air in 6 Kg boxes.
