Mashamba is an award-winning agri-business committed to feeding the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo. We locally produce a variety of quality food products that retail in our butchery and retail outlets, to the wholesale market, and catering and hospitality industries. Through our entire farm-to-table food chain, we keep it local and practice a deep commitment to community, creating employment and development opportunities, and contributing to the economic growth of the DRC.

The Farm and grain storage

The Mashamba farm and grain storage facility is located 30 kilometers outside the busy city of Lubumbashi. Currently, we farm maize and soya and will plant additional crops in the future, ensuring bio-diversity and a diverse range of products for our customers.

The Milling complex

The milling complex is home to Mashamba's state-of-the-art maize mill where we produce our popular breakfast maize meal "Bunga ya Kwetu" and other maize products.  We are also gearing up to commission a feed mill that will produce high-quality animal feed for livestock, and a wheat mill to produce wheat products for human consumption.

THE FEEDLOT AND MEAT PROCESSING

Mashamba's feedlot is located adjacent to the Mashamba farm and can hold up to 2,400 cattle. Our cattle are sourced from reputable breeders and fed a nutritious diet ensuring our meat is of the highest quality.

BUTCHERY AND Retail Outlets

Our Chakula Safi Mashamba butchery and retail outlets are located throughout Lubumbashi, Kolwezi, and in Kinshasa. We aim to extend our retail footprint throughout the Katanga province. We sell maize and soya products, beef, chicken, pork, fish, eggs, and other fresh food products.

Community

The Mill

Our state-of-the-art maize meal mill produces maize flour for human consumption, grittes for breweries and high quality bran and hominy chop for animal feed.

The Farm

Our maize farm is where we plant, grow and harvest maize to produce our famous Bunga Ya Kwetu breakfast maize meal. Additionally, we farm soya to ensure biodiversity and to produce high quality animal feed. We are excited to be planning wheat as a future crop in order to extend our product offering to our customers.

THE Feedlot

We have developed a world class feedlot for up to 8 000 cattle adjacent to the Mashamba farm. Our cattle are locally sourced from a highly reputable breeder.

Our Outlets

Currently we have 4 Chakula Safi Mashamba retail outlets in and around Lubumbashi and our aim is to increase our footprint to Likasi and Kolwezi. Additionally, we supply the catering and hospitality industry with our high quality, affordable, maize and meat products as well as other products available in our stores.

Community

Mashamba practices a deep commitment to community by employing Congolese people in all facets of the business. Additionally, the Mashamba team partners up with local farmers to give them guidance on farming and to purchase high quality products from them for sale in our retail outlets
